Newham A beat Newham B 45-35 in the final which turned out to be their toughest match of the day.

New members are always welcome, come along and have a try. First session is free.
Salle Michael Joseph Fencing Club was formed in the 1980's following the closure of local councils evening class. There has been a history of fencing in the local area dating back to the 1960's and at one point the London Borough of Newham employed two full time coaches. Newham school fencers had success in both regional and national competitions, with some going on to fence for Great Britain. Fencers from the club have in recent years taken part in both individual and team competitions, wining the London League once and finishing as runners up twice.
The club aims to promote and make available the modern sport of fencing to as wide a range of people possible within the local area. We believe that the club provides a friendly atmosphere in which to participate in this sport at all levels from total beginner up to national competition standard. The club at the moment is wholly funded by its membership, receiving no grants or subsidies. We have two coaches Professor Mike Joseph B.A.F. who teaches/coaches all three weapons and Ted Lee. The club owns a basic range of equipment for beginners and electric boxes for the more experienced are in use every week.
All you need bring is tracksuit (or something similar) and trainers.
